Totem Animals
Animal
totems offer spiritual guidance. To best understand the lessons
conveyed by animals that show up in our lives, we must learn more
of their instinctual behaviors, and natural habitats. Is the animal
nocturnal? Does it live in the desert or the tropics? Is the animal
solitary or lives in a pack? What type of diet do they eat? Answers to
these questions and similar questions will give you clues as to what
message is being offered.

Wolf We have written about the wolf before but we have several requests to write about this magnificent animal again.
Wolf teaches
us:
Wolf is a great teacher and is here to help you adapt to change as she
adapts to her environment, embracing the coming seasons and the availability
of food
She accepts reality as she sees it and teaches us to see truth through
her eyes
From birth wolf is forever transforming as she meets the experiences of
her world, embracing the changes and the lessons they bring. She shows
us the value in transformation
Intuition and to trust our decisions
To accept the dark side of ourselves
Aligned with the moon energies she teaches us to honor
the feminine qualities within ourselves
How
to Apply Wolves Teachings to Your Life
What is changing in your
life at present? Notice your resistance to it and then chose to embrace
it. You may want to use affirmations for this such as "I embrace change
as a natural process of my life".
What illusions are you clinging too? Are you seeing the world through clouded
vision. Is your view influenced by past experiences or expectations? Let
it go so that you are able to see clearly with the vision of wolf.
Are you being called to share what you have learned with others? This could
be through a traditional role as a teacher or as a leader in your field
of expertise. It could be that you have much to share with your children.
However you feel called to expres your teacher within Wolf is their to guide
you. totem wolves
Seek solitude. Set aside an hour where your family and friends know not
to disturb you. Sometimes it is easier to relax outside of your home environment
if this is possible go for a walk in the woods. This time will allow you
to connect with the teacher within.
Look for lessons where ever you are. You may find it in the smallest feeling
of irritation towards someone or by asking more questions. Situations to
learn from are being presented to you so stay alert.
How
to Harness the Spirit of Wolf Power Animal

Citrine
Citrine is a yellow-to-golden member of the quartz mineral group. A
deep golden variety from Madiera Spain can resemble the costly imperial
topaz gem stone, which is one reason that citrine is a popular
birthstone alternative to those born in November.
Citrine
has been called the "stone of the mind". Ancient cultures believed that
placing a citrine on the forehead of an elder would increase his
psychic power.
Money energies of citrine Citrine
is known as the lucky "Merchants Stone". If you are in any type of
sales, just put a citrine in the cash drawer and watch what happens.
Also used by healers to:
increase self esteem
protect from the negative energy from someone else's abuse
open the mind to new thoughts
promote clarity of thought
Healing properties of citrine
Citrine
is sometimes used by healers to help with digestion as it is considered
beneficial to the endocrine and digestive system - cleansing, purifying
and eliminating poisons that have built up. Citrine is an excellent
stone to calm and soothe distressed conditions. Some use it to help
relieve depression, digestive problems (including constipation and
diabetes). It will give joy and love to the owner.
Sources of citrine Sources of citrine include Brazil, Bolivia, several African countries and parts of the Soviet Union.

Ritual To Find A Lost Item
Take an object from the area in which you lost the item and hold that item in your hands.
Carefully visualize the item you have lost and open your mind to the impressions that you
feel from the item that you are holding. After a while, you should be able to see the lost item
and see where it went to and how it got there. Remember NOT to cloud your vision with
preconceived thoughts of where and what happened to the item you are looking for.
Remember: An open mind sees more clearly than one "fogged" with "clouded" thoughts!

Fairy Guide

Beauty Fairy (Angelica Pulchrae)
The Fairy of Beauty always carries a looking glass, but strangely
enough, she can't she herself. In fact, although she possesses
considerable grace and dignity, we don't call her the fairy of beauty
for her looks - we call her the Fairy of Beauty because she sees beauty
in everything and everyone.

Halloween Lore

The Jack-O-Lantern
The legend of the Jack-O-Lantern comes from Ireland from about the 18th century. With some variations the
basis of the Jack-O-Lantern is as follows:
There was a stingy drunkard of an Irishman named Jack who tricked the Devil into climbing an apple tree. Then
Jack quickly cut the sign of a cross into the trunk of the tree, thereby preventing the Devil from climbing down. Jack
made the Devil swear that he wouldn't ever come after Jack's soul again or claim it in any way. However, this did
not stop Jack from dying and when he did he was not allowed into Heaven, because of his life of drinking, being
tightfisted and being deceitful. And because of the oath the Devil had taken Jack was not allowed into Hell either.
"But where can I go?" asked Jack. "Back where you came from!" replied the Devil. The way back was windy and
dark. The Devil, as a final gesture, threw a live coal at Jack straight from the fire of Hell. To light his way and to
keep it from blowing out in the wind Jack put it in a turnip he was eating. Ever since Jack and his "lantern" has
been traveling over the face of the earth looking for a place to rest.
The moral of the story: Don't mess with the devil.
Ghosts, Bats and other Halloween stuff...
Halloween is
based on an ancient holiday 'All Hallows Eve'. It was the one day of
the year where dead spirits were allowed to walk the earth.
Bats fingers are actually parts of its wings and their "fingers" are bigger then their body
Bats always turn left when exiting a cave
"Phasmophobia" is a fear of ghosts.
Of the 4000 species of mammals on the planet, there are 900 different species of bats.
Worldwide, bats are the most important natural enemies of night-flying insects.
9% of Americans report having been in the prescence of a ghost.
During WWII, Americans tried to train bats to drop bombs. They failed.
Wiccaphobia: Fear of witches and witchcraft.
Samhainophobia: Fear of Halloween. Orange and black are Halloween colors because orange is associated
with the Fall harvest and black is associated with darkness and death.
Jack o' Lanterns originated in Ireland where people placed candles
in hollowed-out turnips to keep away spirits and ghosts on the Samhain
holiday.
Pumpkins also come in white, blue and green. Great for unique
monster carvings!
Halloween was brought to North America by immigrants from Europe who
would celebrate the harvest around a bonfire, share ghost stories, sing,
dance and tell fortunes.
Tootsie Rolls were the first wrapped penny candy in America.
The ancient Celts thought that spirits and ghosts roamed the
countryside on Halloween night. They began wearing masks and costumes to
avoid being recognized as human.
Halloween candy sales average about 2 billion dollars annually in
the United States.
Chocolate candy bars top the list as the most popular candy for
trick-or-treaters with Snickers #1.
Halloween is the 2nd most commercially successful holiday, with
Christmas being the first.
Bobbing for apples is thought to have originated from the roman
harvest festival that honors Pamona, the goddess of fruit trees.
Black cats were once believed to be witch's familiars who protected
their powers.
